The Bladen County Board of Education will meet tonight (Monday, Feb. 13) at 6 p.m. in the meeting room at the Bladen County Board fo Education located on US 701 South in Elizabethtown.
Spotlights and Recognitions include Certified Nurse Aides, Story Writing Contest, Serv Safe Certifications, MOS Certifications and the awarding of the Monthly Attendance Banner.
Items that will be presented for information to the Board of Education include BCS In The News by Valerie Newton, NC Tobacco Trust Fund Grant Program by Earl Miller, East Bladen Ag Teacher, NC STAR Schools Update by Dr. Tanya Head, and the January Financial Summary by Mrs. Sharon Penny.
Action items requiring a vote are Fundraisers presented by Dr. Robert Heavenridge, Overnight Field Trips presented by Dr. Heavenridge, the Advisory Council Committee List presented by Dr. Taylor, the 2017-2018 School Calendar presented by Dr. Head and a Budget Amendment -presented by Mrs. Sharon Penny.
There will also be a closed session for Certified / Classified Personnel – Dr. Beatty, Student Transfers and Legal Issues. The closed action item is Certified / Classified Personnel.
