Smoke billowed from beneath the hood of a station wagon on Friday afternoon as firefighters worked to cool the vehicle and extinguish the flames. A local citizen reported the vehicle fire ocurred on the NC 87 Bypass near Cromartie Road. The Elizabethtown Fire Department responded to the scene. According to reports, no one was injured in the incident.
