A Bladen County man pled guilty to one count of misuse of the 911 system on Wednesday in Bladen County District Court. He appeared before Judge William Fairley.

According to Bladen County Assistant District Attorney Quentin McGee, David Fredendall was calling 911 with the belief he had an emergency. He said Fredendall alleged he had no minutes left on his cell phone so he mistakenly believed if he hung up, the dispatcher would send someone to his aid. McGee said Fredendall made multiple calls which led to the charges.

Fredendall was given credit for time served and ordered to pay a fine.
