The Bladen County Board of Commissioners is set to hold a meeting on Monday, June 3, 2024. The meeting will commence at 6:30 p.m. and will take place in the Commissioners’ Room located on the lower level of the Bladen County Courthouse at 106 East Broad Street, Elizabethtown.

The agenda for the meeting includes a variety of topics and issues pertinent to the county’s governance and community. The meeting will open with an invocation and the Pledge of Allegiance. The board will then move to approve the consent items, which include:

1. Proposed Agenda
2. Minutes of the May 20, 2024, Regular Meeting
3. Minutes of the May 21, 2024, Recessed Meeting
4. Budget Amendments through June 3, 2024
5. Attorney Fees
6. Designation of Commissioner Cogdell as Voting Delegate to the 2024 National Association of Counties (NACo) Business Meeting
7. Bid for County-Owned Property on McKoy-Staten Road, Clarkton
8. Interlocal Agreement with the Town of Elizabethtown for a Lighting Project at NC 87/US 701 Interchange
9. Mutual Aid Agreement with Columbus County
10. United Way Community Partners FY 2024-25 Grant Funding Agreement

Public hearings will be held to receive comments on the proposed FY 2024-25 budget and the proposed FY 2024-25 Economic Development Budget. Additionally, there will be an update on the Bladen County Flood Insurance Rate Maps.

Individuals and delegations wishing to address the commissioners will have the opportunity to do so. Advisory board appointments for consideration during the June 24, 2024, meeting include various committees such as the Adult Care Home Community Advisory Committee, Ammon Fire Service District Committee, Animal Control Board, and more.

The board will also review the calendar, address matters of interest to commissioners, consider nonprofit grant applications, and may enter a closed session for economic development and personnel matters.
