On Wednesday, March 4, the Bladen County Sheriff’s Office intercepted two letters containing controlled substances hidden behind the stamps of letters mailed to inmates at the Bladen County Jail. Narcotics Agents confirmed through the use of field testing that the controlled substances were buprenorphine and naloxone.

Both are opioids used to treat narcotic addiction however both are routinely abused. According to the Sheriff’s Office, law enforcement agents observed from February 28 to March 4, that Logan Sykes, Robert Philips, Angela Darby, Justin Andrews, and Zikee Thompson did conspire to deliver these controlled substances through the Bladen County Detention Center mail system. All except Darby were inmates at the Bladen County Detention Facility.

A warrant for Conspiracy to Sell and Deliver a Controlled Substance has been issued for Darby. Her last known address is 31 Butters Loop Road in Bladenboro. Anyone with information as to Darby’s whereabouts, may contact the Sheriff’s Office at 910-862-6960.

Below are the suspects with their respective charges:

Zikee Demitrious Thompson, 30, 134 Gowens Road, Bladenboro.
-Conspiracy to Sell and Deliver a Controlled Substance. Thompson’s bond was set at $250,000 secured.

Logan A. Sykes, 23, 2130 Barry Lewis Road, Bladenboro.
-Conspiracy to Sell and Deliver a Controlled Substance, Possession with Intent to Sell and Deliver a Controlled Substance and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Sykes bond was set at $30,000 secured.

Robert Diquan Phillips, Jr., 27, 514 Booker Lennon Road, Evergreen.
-Conspiracy to Sell and Deliver a Controlled Substance. Phillips bond was set at $100,000 secured.

 

Justin Erin Andrews

Justin Erin Andrews, 33, 2498 Highway 53 W., Elizabethtown.
-Conspiracy to Sell and Deliver a Controlled Substance. Andrews bond was set at $5,000 secured.

 

Angela Christine Darby, 33, 31 Butters Loop Road, Bladenboro.

-Conspiracy to Sell and Deliver a Controlled Substance. Darby is at large and has not been arrested at this time.

Thompson, Sykes, Phillips, and Darby were all recently arrested after suspected felonly heroin sales in the Bladenboro area. The Sheriff’s Office is gracious for the publics help and assistance in providing information on suspected drug locations.  If you have information contact the Sheriff’s Office Tip Line at (910) 874-5238.
