Elizabethtown, NC — Bladen Soil and Water Conservation District is thrilled to announce that Zoe Skinner, a fourth grader from Bladen Lakes, has achieved second place in a prestigious state-wide poster contest. This annual educational competition engages students from grades 3-12 across Bladen County to express their understanding and appreciation of natural resource conservation.

This year’s theme, “The Living Soil,” inspired Zoe to create an insightful and creative poster that won her the top honors at the Bladen District and Area 7 levels, including nine districts. Her exceptional work then advanced to the state-level competition, where she competed against entries from across North Carolina and earned an impressive second place.

The District extends its congratulations to Zoe for her outstanding achievement and is proud of all the students who participated in the contests. Special thanks are also given to the local teachers who dedicated time from their busy schedules to support and facilitate these important educational competitions.

“The enthusiasm and understanding of environmental conservation that students like Zoe demonstrate are crucial to the future of our natural resources,” said a Bladen Soil and Water Conservation District spokesperson. “We believe that instilling a sense of responsibility and knowledge about environmental issues early is essential for long-term sustainability.”

The Bladen Soil and Water Conservation District is committed to continuing its efforts to educate the youth about the importance of conserving the natural environment, ensuring that the beauty and health of Bladen County’s landscapes are preserved for future generations.
