The Bladenboro Town Commissioners met on Monday night and held a flag ceremony at the flag pole at the town hall.
Emily and Charles Benton were in attendance for the ceremony.
“When we had the other town hall, Mrs. Benton’s father donated the flag pole and monument,” said Mayor Rufus Duckworth.
The monument has been cleaned and placed at the base of the new flag pole at the current town hall.
Craig Callihan with the Woodmen of the World presented the town with a new flag.
He told those present that Woodmen of the World take part in many projects in the community. Callihan said the Woodmen of the World also donated three flag poles for the lot near the mural in the downtown.
Mayor Duckworth asked the first responders who were present to assist with raising the flag.
