The coronavirus outbreak has led all people to take extra precautions to protect against catching the virus.

The Bladen County Health Department and Centers for Disease Control and Prevention urge women who are pregnant or breastfeeding to be extra viligant to protect themselves from the diease by social distancing and personal hygiene.

The CDC says it is not known whether a mother can transmit COVID-19 to their unborn baby. However, in the few pregnant women who have been studied, no COVID-19 was found in the amniotic fluid or breastmilk, according to the CDC.
