Each year since 1954, May 6th-12th is deemed Nurses’ Week and concludes with Florence Nightingales’ birthday on the 12th.  The American Nurses Association (ANA) theme for this year’s  nursing week is Nurses:  Ethical Practice and Quality Care.  We will be celebrating the delivery of the highest level of quality care that our nurses provide to our patients in addition to the importance of ethics in nursing.  Many activities are planned for our nurses in the in-patient setting as well as our clinics and community.

Our activities will start Monday, May 4th with a proclamation being given by our County Commissioners to announce the week of May 6th-12th as Bladen County Nurses’ Week which includes all nurses in Bladen County.  We will conclude our Nurses’ Week celebration on May 12th with a Candle Light Walk at 7:30pm starting at the Farmer’s Market.  We invite all nurses in Bladen County to attend this event in celebrating the birth of Florence Nightingale.
