A crash in the 2000 block of Martin Luther King Drive resulted in a fatality late Monday night.
According to Elizabethtown Police Lt. Mark McMichael, the crash was a single car accident and two individuals lost their lives.
Lt. McMichael said that the vehicle was traveling on Martin Luther King Drive and ran off the road to the left, striking a tree. The crash ocurred in the vicinity of Richardson Street and Martin Luther King Drive.
“One person was ejected from the vehicle and another remained in the vehicle and the vehicle caught fire,” said Lt. McMichael.
The names of the victims are not being released at this time.
The Elizabethown Fire Department, Bladen County EMS and the Bladen County Sheriff’s Office also responded.
