stop cyberbullyingReports on social media say Miss North Carolina Outstanding Teen contestants have been and are being cyber bullied anonymously. Instagram user, alissaanderegg posted, “I hardly ever post selfies, but here I am posting a #nomakeupselfie. And here is the reason why: Last night, two teenage girls in the Miss North Carolina’s Outstanding Teen program were cyber bullied. One cruel, anonymous person created a Twitter account dedicated to exposing how “ugly” these girls are without makeup.”

Karen Ruffin, Director of Miss Bladenboro posted, “As a Local Executive Director for the Miss NC MAO I am so very PROUD of all the Miss contestants of the Class of 2015 that have taken to social media to defend these girls!” on her Facebook page.

The Miss North Carolina Outstanding Teen Facebook page posted, “1 Samuel 16:7 But the LORD said to Samuel, “Do not look on his appearance or on the height of his stature, because I have rejected him. For the LORD sees not as man sees: man looks on the outward appearance, but the LORD looks on the heart.”

I just wanted to say how amazing it is that the ‪#‎nomakeupselfie went viral! Thank you to everyone who posted their beautiful bare faces.”

Savannah Courtney posted in support, “It’s breaks my heart to see two beautiful girls be criticized for the way they look with or without makeup. However it brings joy to my heart to see everyone standing up for these girls and cyber bullying. People throw rocks at things that shine, and these beautiful girls have continued to shine! They’ve turned an awful thing around to bring awareness to cyber bullying and it’s such an amazing thing! Here’s my ‪#‎nomakeupselfie to ‪#‎stopcyberbullying — with Kenzie Hansley.”
