Car CrashA single vehicle crash on NC 87 near Tobermory resulted in the death of the driver.  The crash occurred at 12:28 a.m. Saturday, said NC Highway Patrol First Sgt. M. Hardee.

According to NC Highway Patrol First Sgt. M. Hardee, the driver of the vehicle, Robert Bryan Brodie Jr. of Fayetteville, was killed when he was ejected from his vehicle.

First Sgt. Hardee said that Brodie was driving west on NC 87 near Tobermory when Brodie’s vehicle ran off the road to the right, went into a ditch and overturned. He said that Brodie was not wearing his seatbelt and was ejected from the vehicle.

Brodie’s wife, Jenna Rose Brodie was a passenger in the vehicle and was transported to Cape Fear Valley Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries.

NC Highway Patrol Trooper A. M. Russ investigated the crash.
