Bladenonline.com had a very special visitor come to our offices on Thursday morning. Andrew Sessoms, a student in Mr. Helms’ class at Tar Heel Middle School, was taking part in the Bladen County 4-H Job Shadowing program and spent his morning with our General Manager Erin Smith.
Sessoms learned about how to create and post stories and images to the website. He also learned about the role advertising and social media play in the news media. Smith discussed different aspects of her job as General Manager as well as covering stories. Sessoms said he loves writing and wants to major in journalism when he attends college.
The job shadowing program helps participants learn about the various aspects of different careers and the skills needed to be successful in them.
