DeMerion Barnhardt

DeMerion Jamar Barnhardt pled guilty to felony possession of a Schedule 1 Controlled Substance in Bladen County Superior Court on Wednesday. Judge Rueben Young sentenced him to 6 to 17 months probation suspended and 24 months of supervised probation. Barnhardt will also receive credit for time served and he must consent to periodic warrantless searches and random drug testing.

Judge Young told Barnhardt that in the event he should have a positive drug test, he is ordering he be immediately arrested and placed in jail under a $50,000 secured bond.

Bladen County District Attorney Courtney Sanford told the court her office made an offer to Barnhardt on January 26, 2017, and he pled guilty. Sanford said during the time between January 26, and his sentencing, Barnhardt has received new charges for possession of a controlled substance in New Hanover County and Duplin County.
