According to Rusty Marsh of NCDOT, the next traffic pattern shift for the NC Highway 87 Bypass and US Highway 701 Interchange will happen today, late this afternoon. Marsh advised that the contractor will open the new alignment for NC Highway 242, which ties new NC Highway 242 into the new US 701 alignment as a “T” intersection.
Motorists are advised to pay careful attention as you enter the work zone and to look for future changes as the work continues.
