The N.C. Department of transportation announced Friday that a portion of State Road 1003 (Twisted Hickory) will be closed beginning Monday, March 27 for crossline repair south of Autry Road at Mile Point 6.19 and Mile Point 6.28. The road is expected to reopen Monday, April 10.
Other road-related announcements for Bladen County include:
• Elwell Ferry is closed due to mechanical problems. It’s expected to reopen on Tuesday at 9 a.m.
• US 701N: Both lanes of the northbound side over the Cape Fear River are closed. Traffic is being rerouted to the southbound lanes. The closure has a wide load traffic restriction.
