Elizabethtown, N.C— Bladen County Schools is pleased to announce that Mr. Chris Orrock will be the new principal at West Bladen High School effective July 1, 2024.

Mr. Orrock comes to West Bladen High with many years of experience not only in the classroom but in school administration as well. Orrock earned his undergraduate degree in history education from North Carolina State University and began his career in education teaching social studies at Cary High School. He continued his education, earning a master’s degree in education administration.

Orrock’s first assignment in school administration was in 2014. He has served as assistant principal at Brunswick County Early College High School and Shallotte Middle School. Orrock previously taught and coached at West Brunswick High School.

Mr. Orrock’s teaching and school leadership have impacted the lives of thousands of students.

Known for being a respected and effective leader, he is committed to ongoing professional development, having participated in the NCPAPA Future Ready Program.

and staff to continue to excel.”
