Good morning! 3 things to know for Friday, October 16
1. It’s Football Friday and Bladen Online will have it covered with reporters at West Bladen to cover the Knights’ homecoming game against Pender, and at Rocky Point for East Bladen’s contest against Trask. Kickoffs are scheduled for 7:30 p.m. We’ll have live tweets from each game @BladenOnline to keep you updated. Also, the Bladen Sports Network will broadcast the West Bladen game on WODR 105.3 FM or online at coolbeach1053.com.
2. Public Safety Softball Tournament “Emergency at the Bases” is Saturday at Bladen County Recreation Park off U.S. 701. Opening ceremony at 8 a.m. There will be food, bounce houses, vendors, emergency service vehicles and much more. Public is welcome.
3. Jones Lake State Park is offering a viewing of an installment of “Planet Earth” on Saturday at 7:30 p.m. at the visitor center. It’s free and open to the public. Bring the family, chairs, popcorn, and drinks. For information, call Ranger John Privette at (910) 588-4550.
