The members of Cub Scout Pack 600 enjoyed their annual residential camping weekend at Camp McNeill in White Oak. The Scouts enjoyed learning about archery and completing STEM exercises.

The Scouts arrived at the camp on Friday and enjoyed making S’mores by the camp fire before resting and getting ready for a busy weekend.

Saturday was a busy day with Scouts beginning the day with a flag ceremony and continuing with activities centered around this year’s theme of STEM NOVA. Scouts built a model bridge and tested the amount of weight it would held. Pack 600’s bridge held the most weight.

The Scouts also got to learn about electrical and mechanical engineering.  Bear Den Leader Andy Runion said Scouts also explored the various uses of catapults and levees.

The Scouts also received a lesson in archery and had the opportunity to shoot arrows.

There was also time for some fun as Scouts played a game of Ga Ga Ball and enjoyed time on the lake reviewing water safety.
