Folks wishing to hold an elected office are making their way to the Board of Elections Office.

In an already crowded field for Bladen County Commissioner Countywide Al Marshburn has filed for the Republican primary.

In the Bladen County Board of Education District 2 race, Berry Lewis has filed for the democratic primary to challenge incumbent Dem. Wilbur Smith Jr.

Judge Douglas Sasser has filed seeking re-election to the Superior Court Judge 13A seat.

Republican Brenden Jones has filed seeking election to the NC House District 46 seat.

Pauline Hankins has filed seeking re-election to her NC District Court Judge 13 seat.

In the US Congress District 7 race, incumbent Republican David Rouzer has filed seeking re-election.

In the race for US Senate, incumbent Republican Richard Burr will face a challenge from fellow Republican Paul Wright for the Republican primary and Deborah Ross and Kevin Griffin have filed for the Democratic primary.

The filing period for the 2016 election ends at noon on Monday, Dec. 21.
