Whiteville, NC – The Southeastern Community Action Partnership (SCAP) is set to host a Fatherhood Community Resource Fair on Saturday, June 15, 2024. This event, part of SCAP’s Community Services Block Grant Program, will occur from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Mount Olive Headstart Center at 5465 Silver Spoon Road in Whiteville, NC.
The Fatherhood Community Resource Fair aims to celebrate and support fathers and male role models in the community. The event will feature various activities, including great speakers, delicious food, and live music, making it a fun and enriching experience for all attendees.
Lamont Grate, the Fatherhood Administrator, and Kathleen Lowe Jacobs, MSW, the CSBG Director, will be key figures at the event, offering their insights and support. The fair invites all sororities and fraternities to join in the celebration, encouraging them to show their colors and express their love and appreciation for the males in their lives.
The purpose of the fair is to encourage all males and fathers, emphasizing the importance of their roles within the family and the community. The event is open to individuals of all ages, promoting fellowship and unity among participants. Attendees are encouraged to bring their lawn chairs and enjoy a day of fun, connection, and community spirit.
All resources are welcome to set up tables, tents, and displays to contribute to the event’s success. This initiative underscores the “Nothing But Love” theme for fathers and males, as SCAP strives to foster a supportive and inclusive environment for everyone.
