The Carolina Civic Center in downtown Lumberton will hold auditions the weekend of Feb. 10-12 for its annual “My Time to Shine” Talent Competition and its June production of Disney’s Broadway hit “Beauty and the Beast.”

Auditions for the ninth annual “My Time to Shine” Talent Competition will be held 6 p.m., Friday, Feb. 10 and 11 a.m., Saturday, Feb. 11. A completed application (and $20 application fee) are required for audition. Applications can be downloaded at the www.carolinaciviccenter.com website, completed and emailed to the email address below, or printed and dropped off at the address below. Applications also can be submitted through the theater’s administrative offices 1-5:30 p.m. weekdays.

All applications and the non-refundable $20 registration fee (checks payable – Carolina Civic Center) must be submitted by 6 p.m. Feb. 3.

The Carolina Civic Center Historic Theater’s popular and competitive annual talent competition will take place at 7 p.m. March 18 and includes all categories of talent from singing and dancing to instrumentalists. Auditions will be held to determine who gets to showcase on our stage, with cash prizes going to the top contestants, including $1,000 top prize. Auditions for the theater’s production of Disney’s “Beauty and the Beast” will be held Saturday Feb. 11 and Sunday, Feb. 12 at 2:30 p.m. each day. All who are auditioning for a principal role should come prepared to sing a song by that character. All ensemble roles should come prepared to sing a song from the show. Also, everyone auditioning should come prepared to sing a song of their choice, with tracks, and one that displays their range and vocal ability (Broadway musical preferred)

Disney’s Beauty and the Beast, the Broadway musical, is a Disney stage musical highlighting that a person’s beauty comes from his or her heart when the tale’s protagonist, Beauty, finally recognizes the inner beauty of the Beast. Audition link: Beauty and the Beast – Carolina Civic Center
