Monday afternoon brings closings and shortages for Tar Heel. According to a Tar Heel Firefighter the road connecting the towns of Tar Heel and White Oak is closed. Only emergency responders are allowed to access Tar Heel Ferry Road, containing a newly built bridge, to assist in evacuation efforts.
Employees of the Marathon / Minuteman Food Mart in Tar Heel told customers the only gasoline left at the station was regular unleaded 87, but shortly ran completely out of gas around 5:30 p.m. on Monday.
