Thoughts While Shaving

Snow could hang around for a few hours.  Sunny today with highs near 40, West wind 7 to 10 mph, with gusts as high as 15 mph.  Clear, with low around 24 tonight, west wind around 5 mph.

Icy spots on roadways could be hazardous.  Temps increase to the 50s and 60s later this week.

Don’t want to ‘jinks’ our utility companies, but year ’round preparation by Four County and Duke Energy has cut ‘down time’ to a minimum.  Zero outage at many households and businesses.

Love to read John Clark’s articles related to high school sports.  Congratulations to Ja Tyra Moore-Peterson on her 1,000th point in her East Bladen high school basketball career.  The game ball was presented by her former teammate, now UNCW star, Lacey Suggs. Check BladenOnline sports for daily updates on current players and those who have moved on to the next level.  And, Kenneth Armstrong always captures the special moments in his photos.

Good to see 3 judge panel ruled the NC Legislature must move quickly on Congressional redistricting.  They have had several months (years) to get it right.  Makes no sense to me for Bladen to be in a district with Mecklenburg and Union counties (Charlotte and Monroe).  Felt the same when D’s drew districts that ran from Warren County, (Virginia border) to inside Columbus County, near the South Carolina border.  Both, gerrymandering at its worst.  And counties should be left whole.  I really believe an elementary math class could do a better job. They could do all but the political portion, the part that should be eliminated.

Stock market is on a ‘high’. Helps retirement plans and attitudes.

I cannot build myself up by tearing others down.

Life has two rules: #1 Never Quit: #2 Always remember #1.

The truth is rarely pure and never simple.
