Good news for Brooks Baldwin, Columbus County native. He has been promoted to the Chicago White Sox as of today … The infielder was recently “moved up” from AA to Triple A Charlotte … and, if all goes as planned, may be in the Sox starting line-up today … 3rd base, I think … His dad, Chuck Baldwin, was a good player … 1st baseman a few years ago … We wish the younger Baldwin a successful major league baseball career … Look forward to checking his major league stats…
What a thrill … our family had a similar situation, many years ago … not as successful … A time in the minor leagues for #1 son, including a start with the Texas Rangers vs. their triple A farm club … Oklahoma City … After a few years in the minors, he made a career move that proved to be successful … but something special about playing at that level … even a one-time event…
