Wish I could get as excited about World Series as I did as a teenager … Just about every year … so it seemed … Brooklyn Dodgers vs New York Yankees … and I was a Yankee fan … Whitey Ford, Mickey Mantle, Yogi Berra … and Casey Stengel was the manager … Watched the game on a TV with … maybe a 12 inch screen, and no color … black ‘n white … at my workplace.
Voted yesterday … happy to get that behind me … actually a pleasant experience. Voted at the old Elizabethtown High School gym, a block behind Elizabethtown City Hall for those who never knew Elizabethtown High School was located where city hall is, today. About another week and a half of early voting … General Election less than 2 weeks away … November 3rd…
Youngsters must really be confused … watching political ads and so many folks lambasting their competition … Then on Sunday, we take them to church and they hear … ‘Love Thy Neighbor As Thyself’ … ‘Do unto others as we would have them do to you’ … confusing … for sure … Sad…

Remember when political signs were nailed, tacked to trees … Saw a Jesse Helms sign near the top of a huge tree in a town, county west of here several years ago … actually in the Piedmont … no chance it would be destroyed…
