Daytona 500 begins at 2:30 PM today. Alex Bowman and Denny Hamlin will begin the race on row 1. David Gilliland will be driving #92 Ford, owned by Ricky Benton Racing team from nearby Cerro Gordo, NC. Gilliland begins the race in 39th position.
Bladen County Commissioners meet in regular session Monday, 6:30 PM. One item that could draw interest is a Public Hearing to receive comments related to a ‘possible law making it illegal to hunt or discharge a firearm on, from, or across a state-maintained right-of-way or to retrieve dogs from a public road while in possession of a loaded firearm.” The meeting is open to the public.
Another important event Monday. An information session at Bladen Community College for parents and 8th grade students interested in learning more about Bladen Early College High School. The meeting will be held in the BCC Auditorium at 6 PM.
Congratulations to the East Bladen girls basketball team. Another Three Rivers Conference Championship. The team advances to state playoffs.
