Here are Three Things to Know for Wednesday, March 4:
1. The East Bladen and West Bladen baseball and softball teams will try again today to open their seasons. Games scheduled Tuesday were rained out. East Bladen is scheduled to play at Whiteville and West Bladen is set to play at Clinton. The East Bladen softball game will start at 6 and West Bladen at 6:30. Both baseball games will start at 7. Of course … that’s weather permitting.
2. The Clarkton Farm Fest Dance is March 21 from 8 p.m. until midnight at the Clarkton Entertainment Center. The Pink Slips band will perform. Admission $20. Proceeds will benefit activities and youth organizations in the community. (READ MORE)
3. Bladen County Schools pre-kindergarten screenings will be held beginning April 21 and through May 1. Call the school for an appointment. Requirements include certified birth certificate (not mother’s copy), child must be 4 years old on or before Aug. 31, pre-kindergarten health assessment, immunization record, Social Security card, proof of residence, proof of income.
