Elizabethtown, NC – On Monday, June 24, 2024, according to Mayor, Sylvia Campbell, the Town of Elizabethtown Town Council will convene for a Special Called Meeting at 12 o’clock noon. The meeting will be held at the Elizabethtown Municipal Building located at 805 W. Broad Street.

This meeting has been called to address several crucial matters that impact the community directly. The agenda includes the following key items:

1. Public Hearing – Text Amendment for Planned Unit Development (PUD) for the Live Work Play Project at the Elizabethtown Industrial Park: This amendment seeks to outline guidelines for the proposed Live Work Play Project, emphasizing a balanced approach to residential, commercial, and recreational spaces.

2. Public Hearing – Conditional Zoning Permit for the Live Work Play Project: Discussion will focus on the zoning permit necessary for the implementation of the Live Work Play Project, ensuring alignment with local zoning ordinances and community needs.

3. Public Hearing – Zoning Ordinance Text Amendment for Truck Terminals: Proposed amendments to the zoning ordinance will address the regulation and location of truck terminals within the town limits, aiming to optimize traffic flow and safety.

4. FY 2023-2024 Budget Amendment: The council will review and consider adjustments to the current fiscal year’s budget, reflecting changes in revenue and expenditures.

5. Interlocal Agreement with County of Bladen for Lighting Project on Hwy. 701 and Hwy. 87 Overpass: Collaboration with the County of Bladen to enhance lighting infrastructure on key highways, promoting safety and visibility.

6. Loan Offer to Finance the Lead and Copper Revisions for the Lead Service Line Inventory Project: Evaluation of a proposed loan to fund revisions necessary for the Lead Service Line Inventory Project, addressing public health concerns related to water quality.

7. Elizabethtown Advisory Committee Appointments: Discussion and appointment of new members to advisory committees crucial for community engagement and decision-making.

8. Closed Session: Pursuant to NCGS 143-318.11(a)(4) and NCGS 143-318.11(a)(5), a closed session will be held to discuss confidential personnel matters and legal issues.
