Overview: Deep moisture across the region combined with weak low pressure and July heating, will lead to scattered thunderstorms each day this week, favored in the afternoons and evenings. A few storms over the ocean will move onshore near Cape Fear in the very early mornings.
Impacts: The deep atmospheric moisture will lead to torrential rains at times this week within rain-loaded thunderstorms, raising the odds of localized flooding for some areas. Any storms approaching the beaches will elevate the threat of lightning strikes.
