The White Lake Water Festival committee took to social media today to share an exciting announcement detailing the array of events and activities scheduled for the upcoming festival weekend. The enthusiastic committee said, “We can’t wait to see YOU! The ski show, the parade, the fashion show, the car show, the sandcastle building contest, the scavenger hunt, the cornhole tournament, the vendors and food trucks, and late, but not forgotten is the live music on both Friday and Saturday nights. So much to do! What a weekend!! Ask your questions here so you will be ready when the weekend gets here!!”
The festival, set to take place from Friday, May 17, to Sunday, May 19, promises a fun-filled weekend for attendees of all ages. Here’s a breakdown of the events:
Friday, May 17
– 8:00 AM: 8th Annual Elizabethtown Rotary Club Scholarship Tournament at Vineyard Golf at White Lake
– 5:00 PM: Voting begins for the Student Logo Competition at the Wake Shop, Goldston’s Beach
– 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM: Car Show Cruise-in at Goldston’s Beach
– 6:00 PM: Scavenger Hunt begins on White Lake Drive. Clues can be picked up at Resort Collections all weekend. Completed forms are turned in at Goldston’s Beach Arcade.
– 8:00 PM – 11:00 PM: Jim Quick and the Coastline Band live on the main stage at Goldston’s Beach
– 8:00 AM – 12:00 PM: Registration for the Water Festival Car Show at The Lake Church
– 10:00 AM – 11:00 AM: Parade down White Lake Drive (street will be blocked off by 9:30 AM)
– 10:00 AM – 4:00 PM: Craft Vendors in Goldston’s Beach parking lot with Food Vendors across the street by The Lake Store
– 11:00 AM – until: White Lake Fire Department BBQ pork and BBQ chicken plate sales
– 11:00 AM – 6:00 PM: Cornhole Tournament at Camp Clearwater near the arcade
– 12:30 PM – 1:30 PM: Family Sand Castle Contest sponsored by Elizabethtown Presbyterian Church on the shore at Camp Clearwater near the Chapel
– 2:00 PM – 3:00 PM: The Carolina Show Ski Team performs from Goldston’s Beach to Camp Clearwater
– 3:00 PM – 4:00 PM: Fashion Show on the main stage at Goldston’s Beach with MC, Miss North Carolina Volunteer 2024 Hailey Hudson
– 8:00 PM – 11:00 PM: Cat5 Band live on the main stage at Goldston’s Beach
Sunday, May 19
– 2:00 PM: The Scavenger Hunt ends, and the winner is announced at Goldston’s Beach
– 2:00 PM: Student Logo winner is announced at Goldston’s Beach
– 3:00 PM: Wiffle Ball Tournament – A community gathering to celebrate the conclusion of the festival weekend at Goldston’s Beach
Among the exciting additions to this year’s festival are the Cornhole Tournament and the Family Sand Castle Building Contest. The Cornhole Tournament, held on the Camp Clearwater arcade dance floor, has an entry fee of $40 per team with a 100% payout. The Family Sand Castle Building Contest encourages families to bring their shovels, buckets, and creativity to Camp Clearwater on Saturday, May 18, from 12:30 to 1:30 PM.
The Scavenger Hunt will take participants on a journey through the festival, searching for hidden water skis scattered about White Lake Drive. Clues can be picked up at Resort Collections starting Friday at 5 PM, with completed forms due by Sunday at 1 PM at Goldston’s Beach arcade. The winner will be drawn and announced at 2 PM on Sunday.
The committee also announced the top ten finalists for the Student Logo Competition, with voting open from Friday, May 17, at 5 PM until Sunday, May 19, at 2 PM. The winner will be revealed on Sunday at 2 PM at Goldston’s Beach, where the community is invited to celebrate these talented young artists.
