thoughts while shavingFacts related to our weather … Average high temperature is increasing, hurricane season is fast approaching … and very little we can do about either … Just prepare and adapt…

Yesterday’s high temp was 95 degrees … and more of the same today…

Sunny today with a high near 95 … Tonight, mostly clear skies with a low around 68 … Sunday … sunny with a high near 92 … and no relief in sight … Monday thru Friday … Highs in the low to mid 90 daily…

I enjoyed watching some of the U.S. Open … I have attended a couple over the years … Hot, hot and hotter … And very few spots to get relief … Scoring, about as expected … Upper 60s to very high…

At the halfway point … Ludwig Aberg is the leader by stroke over Bryson DeChambeau, Thomas Detry, and Patrick Cantlay … Scottie Scheffler, the PGA leading money winner, barely made the cut after 36 holes, in at +5 … Hot weather, tough course and a pot of gold at the end of the tournament … Been there as a spectator … Happy to watch on TV. Play ends late Sunday … Total purse is $21,500,000 … Winner’s share is $4.3 million … Every player will make at least $10,000 each … including those who are cut after 36 holes of play…

So much money for such events … and look around, so many among us, strugglin’ … to make ends meet … probably not a good time for the observation … but the truth…

Father’s Day tomorrow … Oldest, youngest, most children, etc. … many times, they are introduced at church services…

Congrats to Mrs. Amy White Reeves, the new leader of Elizabethtown Academy…

Progress on live, work, play area around the Elizabethtown industrial park, hopefully moving forward … Good News…

Bladen We Care Annual Golf Tournament less than a week away, being held again this year near Wallace … Thursday, June 20…

We are approaching the middle of the 2024 year … Still need rain…

FYI … We live in the Happy Valley area, near Elizabethtown … Some of the best neighbors in the world…
