Here are three things to know for Saturday, Dec. 24:
1. Weather Alert: The National Weather Service has issued a wind chill advisory through 10 a.m. Saturday. Wind chill values may be as low as 5 degrees today with a high near 32 and wind gusts as high as 21 mph. Low temperature Saturday night is expected to be around 17. Christmas Day is forecast to be sunny with a high near 39.
2. Nature Hike: Today, 10 a.m., Jones Lake State Park Visitor Center. Join a park ranger for a hike through the bay forest and discover why this environment is unique. Event is free and open to the public. Information: 910-588-4550.
3. High School Basketball: The Bladen Offroad Christmas Tournament opens Wednesday at West Bladen High School with four boys’ games. There also will be four games Thursday and Friday. Admission is $6 each day with no passes out. (READ MORE)
