2. School Break Nears End: Bladen County public school students will return to classes Tuesday for the start of the second semester. Schools have been closed for Christmas break since Dec. 19.
3. NFL: The Carolina Panthers (6-9) play at the Tampa Bay Buccaneers (7-8) today at 1 p.m. on FOX. If the Panthers win today and next Sunday in New Orleans, they will be the NFC South champion and host a first-round playoff game after starting the season 1-4 and firing head coach Matt Rhule.
