For many aspiring musicians, Nashville is a dream town. It is a stepping stone to the road of fame, success, and recognition. A band of Bladen County musicians, known as 87&Pine, is headed to Nashville soon to record new music, and they are thrilled.

The band will begin recording on February 18 and 19 at Treasure Island Records, the same studio where Jason Aldean records his music. An offer to have their music “put in the right hands” by the owner was too good to deny… 87&Pine is Nashville-bound!

COVID had their original plans postponed a few months ago, but thankfully, the opportunity is now within reach – just a couple of weeks away. Lead singer, Brent Underwood, stated: “You know… it’s been a long 20+ years of practices, band drama, and playing every bar and hole-in-the-wall up and down the east coast for little to no money to get to this point; but we are still here, and ready to put Bladen County on the map!”

Underwood added, “Don’t get me wrong – nothing in life and music is ever promised and there are plenty of miles to go and hills to climb, but with a county of people supporting us I know we can get there together!”

All of the music that the country-rock band will record is new, and there are nearly 50 songs! The songs are performed by singers and musicians Brent Underwood, Dane Goodwin, Chris Howell, and Dustin Varner.

Of course our next question is, “When do we get to hear the music?!” Well, here is what Underwood says:

“That is the million-dollar question. If a label likes it (and with the power of positive-thinking, they will), we sign with someone and then it would ultimately be up to them when the music is released.”

He also shared that 87&Pine has plans for a few more music videos. Underwood plans to have a new song out this summer, but until then, 87&Pine has an entire album out right now that is available for listening. The album can be found on iTunes, Apple Music, Spotify, Amazon, and Youtube.

Underwood announced, “We will have our first show as ‘Nashville Recording Artists’ on February 26 at Huske Hardware in downtown Fayetteville at 7 pm.”
