Thoughts While Shaving
Spread the love

Thoughts While ShavingThe stories coming out of Texas are heart-wrenching.  So much pain for so many, but so much good by so many.  People helping people.  It’s amazing when we as Americans come together, forgetting everything else and do unto others as we would have them do for us.  There is nothing we can’t do……forget the petty differences and just love thy neighbor as thyself.

Can’t image the pain that lies ahead for so many, as they begin to recover, rebuild and over time, get back to what seems so routine for all of us.

Labor Day is fast approaching and as a late (age) teenager, my favorite time of the year.  Forget the crops to be harvested, back to school and all the other distractions.  My friends and I would head to Darlington for the Southern 500 on Labor Day, as I recall 380+ laps around the oval track.  Arrive on Saturday night for a Monday race.  No place to stay, just enough money to exist on, but a good time.  Slept in the parking lot, on the ground several times, then discovered a downtown theater that was open all night long.  A 25 cent ticket allowed us to stay inside, cool air in a seat that was not exactly the most comfy place for a nap, but an upgrade from the parking lot.  So much fun, then and so many wonderful memories over the years.

The North Korean situation is not getting better.  Hope and pray, cool heads will prevail, but how do you deal with, what appears to be a go-for-broke individual as leader of the North.  My guess is the US could wipe them off the face of the earth, but at a huge cost of lives for many innocent victims.  Scarry!!

There is something deep within us that sobs at endings.  Why, God does everything have to end?  Why does all nature grow old?  Why do spring and summer have to go?  Joe Wheeler
