Five Bladen County teams – the East Bladen and West Bladen baseball and softball teams and East Bladen women’s soccer – received play-off berths Monday when the NCHSAA Play-off Brackets were announced.

Coach Patty Evers’ Lady Eagle softball team is the only Bladen team that will be playing at home in the first round as the Lady Eagles (14-5) received the No. 7 Class 2-A East Seed. East Bladen will host Jacksonville Northside (10-9), the No. 26 seed.

Coach Pam Stephens’ West Bladen squad (12-8) are the No. 18 seed in the Class 2-A East and will travel to Washington (15-4), the No. 15 seed.

In the baseball Class 2-A East bracket, Coach Kim Cain’s West Bladen Knights (10-8) received the No. 22 seed and will travel to Ayden-Grifton (17-5), the No. 11 seed. Early reports say that game will be played at 7 p.m. Wednesday.

Coach Russell Priest’s East Bladen Eagles (10-12) are the No. 30 seed in the 2-A East and will go to Newport to play No. 3 seed Croatan (15-2).

In the women’s soccer Class 2-A East bracket, Coach Jay Raynor’s East Bladen Lady Eagles (7-10), the No. 29 seed, will travel up Hwy 701 to play No. 4 seed Clinton (18-2-1).

More individual game times will be shared when they are announced.
