The Bladen County Education Foundation is gearing up for some good natured fun with their annual Jail-A-Thon. Bladen County Educational Foundation’s Jail-A-Thon is an event the community enjoys each year to help raise funds for the local county school system according to event organizers.
The event is set for Thursday, May 2, from 1 p.m. until 5 p.m. at the public meeting room of the Bladen County Board of Education. The way the Jail-A-Thon works is you sign up a friend, business partner, loved one, or boss to be “arrested.”
The person being arrested will then be picked up by a police officer and transported to the Bladen County Board of Education where they will face a “judge”, learn the “charges” against them, receive their “fine.” Once the person is “sentenced,” the participants then make telephone calls to friends and co-workers to raise the “bail” money.
