Thoughts While ShavingIt’s Monday, a very hot Monday….a Heat Advisory is in effect from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.
High temp records could fall….Yesterday’s high temp was 96 degrees, the all-time high was 97.  Today, the record high is 96 degrees.  The all-time high for tomorrow is 98 degrees….forecast high for tomorrow is 102…mid to upper 90’s the balance of the week…Be careful.
Bladen Mission 2015 is underway with between 50 and 60 junior and senior high students participating….The hot weather is not helpful…hopefully Bladen Mission 2015 will be an experience the youngsters will remember for years to come.
Still no formal ID for Dorothy Pait Johnson of Hartsville, SC.  The former Bladenboro resident was burned in her home late last week.  Her family has set up a site on the Brown, Pennington, Atkins funeral home webpage for condolences.  The funeral home is in Hartsville.  An autopsy will hopefully provide positive ID.  Dorothy was 77 years old, a 1956 graduate of Bladenboro High School.
My guess is beach communities work hard to promote their area as the perfect vacation “spot”, but one mishap can cause serious harm to their efforts.  Such is the case with the Oak Island area.  Two teenagers were bitten by sharks yesterday.  News sources indicate both suffered  loss of limbs….Mark me down as one who will never lose a part of my body to a shark…unless it is traveling over land or is in my shower…
It is so hot…..I recall “cropping” tobacco when the heat values were near 100…One reason I am not big on being outside for most of the day….I met my quota for “hot days” early in my life.
A hug is a great gift….one size fits all, and it’s easy to exchange. (Natasha Isabelle)
