Spread the love

We close out June today with little hope of cooler temps, or measureable rainfall. Looking at the week ahead, temps thru Saturday are expected to be in the mid 90s to 100 degrees on Wednesday. Our best chance of rain is Thursday (Independence Day), a 30% possibility.

Average high temp for July is 89, average low 67 and average rainfall is 5.5 inches. Comparing with June extremes, average high temperature is 85, average low 62 and rainfall 4.2 inches.

Bottom line … we need rain.

Week of July 4 is usually one of the busiest of the year for White Lake and surrounding areas.

Put your thinking hat on, your most memorable July 4th holiday. … For me, can’t remember a really memorable one … as a youngster on the farm, it was just another work day. As a cutter at a local dress plant, it may have been the first time ever for a week off. … As stated in previous ‘Thoughts’, many plants closed the week of the 4th. As an employee at WBLA for 20 years or so, just another work day, the show had to go on. Much different today, technology changed it.

Hope to see you in church today!

Church signs:

If you’re headed in the wrong direction, God allows U-turns.

That “Love Thy Neighbor” thing … I meant it … God.

You think it’s hot here? — God
