Alcoholics Anonymous (A.A.), Celebration Recovery, Narcotics Anonymous (N.A.), and Nar-Anon Family Support Groups all have proven results for assisting addicts and their families dealing with the damaging effects of addictions. The Bladen County Opioid Task Force has been working years to find ways to bring these support groups to the area.

Currently, Windsor United Methodist Church has a Celebrate Recovery Program, however they need leaders to help facilitate the program according to a recent announcement by the church. Celebrate Recovery is a Christ-centered 12 – step program for anyone dealing with addiction issues. The group meets each Sunday from 6 to 8:30 p.m. at Windsor United Methodist Church. Dinner is served at 6 p.m. and the meeting begins at 6:30 p.m. The church is located at 12863 NC Highway 242 North, Elizabethtown.

Robert W. Villegas requests anyone interested in assisting with Celebrate Recovery contact him at 910-249-3726.

A.A., N.A. are 12-step recovery programs as well. Nar-Anon is a support group for families of addicts. The Bladen County Opioid Task Force did succeed in organizing a Narcotics Anonymous group with the help of the Bladen Baptist Association.

Cypress Street in Elizabethtown. The first meeting was held Tuesday, August 19th at 7:00 p.m.
