Planning Director Greg Elkins is expected to provide an update Tuesday to the Bladen County Board of Commissioners regarding the 2020 census.

The meeting was moved from Monday because of the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. holiday. Tuesday’s meeting is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. in the Assembly Room in the lower level of the Bladen County Courthouse in Elizabethtown. The meeting is open to the public.

Elkins heads the Bladen County 2020 Census Complete Count Committee. The aim of the committee is to make sure every person in Bladen County is counted in the upcoming census. Some federal funding depends on the number of people counted.

Among other items on the agenda is a report from Health and Human Services Director Dr. Terri Duncan on the 2019 Communicable Disease report and an update regarding Go Red Day.

County manager Greg Martin is expected to ask the board to consider adopting a conflict of interest policy.

Bladen Commissioner agenda: Jan. 21, 2020
