BELMONT – Tar Heel native Trevor Lesane batted 4-7, scored 3 runs and knocked in 5 runs for Erskine in a weekend series at Belmont Abbey.

 Friday Lesane smacked a single to right field that plated the first run for the Flying Feet in the 2nd inning, then tied the game 3-3 with a 2-run single to right in the 4th inning. However Belmont Abbey pulled out an 8-5 victory.

 In the first game of Saturday’s double-header Lesane walked, stole a base and scored a run in the 2nd inning then belted a 2-run single to centerfield in the 4th that gave the Flying Feet a 4-0 lead. The West Bladen grad slammed a double to left in the 7th and scored the final run in Erskine’s 7-3 win.

 Lesane reached base on a fielder’s choice and scored a run in the nightcap, but the Crusaders outlasted the Flying Feet 9-7 in 11 innings.  

The West Bladen grad raised his batting average to .302 and his on-base percentage to .404 with the 4-hit weekend. Lesane has scored 11 runs, drove in 11 runs, hammered 3 doubles and stole 3 bases while playing in 15 games for the Flying Feet who have an 8-7 record.

 Erskine opens another weekend series Friday at Limestone College in Gaffney, SC.
