According to the weather service reports, Sally’s remnants will affect Southeastern North Carolina through tonight, causing a few potential hazards. Pfaff released a briefing for more information. Here’s Pfaff’s quick summary of the weather conditions:
- A few tornadoes are possible, especially this afternoon and this evening
- Additionally, a few thunderstorms may produce damaging wind gusts to 60 mph
- Periods of heavy rain could lead to flash flooding, especially near low-lying and prone locations. A
- Flash Flood Watch remains in effect for a portion of northeast SC and southeast NC
- Some coastal flooding is also possible from high astronomical tides and swells
- The arrival of Hurricane Teddy’s swells this weekend will prolong enhanced rip current activity and rough surf conditions
