The Bladen County Board of Elections has scheduled the first of several meetings for Tuesday to approve or correct any deficiencies for absentee by mail ballots.

The meeting will start at 5 p.m. at the Board of Elections office located at 301 S. Cypress Street in Elizabethtown.

Other meetings on the topic are scheduled Oct. 6, Oct. 13, Oct. 20, Oct. 27, Nov. 2 and Nov. 3. All meetings, except the Nov. 3 meeting, will start at 5 p.m. The Nov. 3 meeting will start at 2 p.m.

A supplemental absentee meeting is scheduled Nov. 10 beginning at 5 p.m.

The official canvass is planned Friday, Nov. 13 at 11 a.m.

One-stop early voting begins Thursday, Oct. 15 at the Bladen County Recreation Department in Elizabethtown, Spaulding Monroe building in Bladenboro, East Arcadia Town Hall, Booker T. Washington Primary School in Clarkton, Bay Tree Fire Department in Harrells and Tar Heel Municipal building. One-stop voting concludes Saturday, Oct. 31.

Same-day registration will be available during the one-stop voting period.

Hours for early voting are:
Monday through Friday: 8 a.m.-7:30 p.m.
Saturday: 8 a.m-3 p.m.
Sunday: 1 p.m.-5 p.m.

Election Day is Tuesday, Nov. 3. Same-day registration will not take place on Election Day. Polls will be open from 6:30 a.m.-7:30 p.m. on Nov. 3.
