The Bladen County Board of Commissioners have called a special meeting Monday to begin discussion of the fiscal year 2021-22 budget.
The meeting is scheduled for 4 p.m. inside the Superior Courtroom of the Bladen County Courthouse in Elizabethtown. The budget must be approved by June 30.
The budget meeting is one of three scheduled for the board Monday. There’s a Board of Equalization and Review meeting at 6 p.m. followed by the board’s regular bi-monthly meeting at 6:30 p.m.

Among the items on the board’s meeting is a request from Bladen County Schools for $168,073 for capital outlay projects. Among the list is $76,317 for clear touch boards, wifi module and mobile stands at East Bladen and West Bladen high schools and $25,505 for a 2021 Chevrolet Silverado crew cab four-wheel drive for the Maintenance Department.
