The Elizabethtown-White Lake Area Chamber of Commerce and both the Town of Elizabethtown and the Town of White Lake organized two meetings. The objective of the meetings is to listen to concerns, discuss how to enhance the business district, and plan promotions.

Businesses in the Elizabethtown downtown area are invited to a meeting on Thursday, July 29 at 5:30 pm at the Cape Fear Farmer’s Market. All businesses in the area that encompasses the first two blocks of West Broad St., the first block of South Poplar St ( 701 South), and the block of MLK from Broad to King Street are invited.

Businesses surrounding White Lake are invited to a meeting on Tuesday, August 3 at 7 pm at White Lake Town Hall. All businesses in the White Lake area are invited.

Businesses do not have to be Chamber members to attend.

Terri Dennison, Executive Director of the Chamber, explained the Chamber is promoting the area as “Mother Nature’s Playground” and would like to talk with business leaders about cross-promoting each other.

“We also want to see how everybody is changing since the Pandemic,”
she added, “and we want to get ready for our new guide.”

Dennison announced the August Chamber meeting had been canceled. In an email, Dennison stated, “Due to the current schedule of business meetings and the upcoming first Sunset Jam of the year, the Elizabethtown – White Lake Chamber of Commerce is canceling their August 10 member meeting. A schedule of Chamber Member Meetings and After Hours events will be announced shortly.”

Last but not least, Dennison wants to make sure everyone is aware of the upcoming Sunset Jams concert.  The Rivermist Band will be entertaining the crowd at The Grand Regal at Goldston’s Beach on Friday, August 6, from 7 pm until 10 pm.

The chamber would like to thank the following sponsors for helping make the concert a free event.
