Bladenboro Historical Society is hosting a New Year’s Day lunch plate sale with a goal to raise funds for maintenance of the Historical Building in Bladenboro. A traditional New Year’s meal will be served – collards, black-eyed peas, chicken and rice, cornbread, cake, and tea to drink. The plates will be sold for eight dollars from 11 am until 2 pm at the Historical Building on January 1st, 2022.
The Historical Building has existed for over a century, and much has happened there since it began as a Farm Life School in 1917. The Historical Building is a significant feature of small-town Bladenboro, and its preservation and upkeep rely heavily on fundraising, donations, and volunteers.
