Bladenboro Fire Department had a structure fire call around 7 am on Wednesday, February 2, 2022. According to Bladenboro Fire Department’s Secretary, Wanda Coleman, Bladenboro Police Officer William Huntley made rounds Wednesday morning when he noticed smoke coming from Hester Trucking, Inc, located on JR Britt Road in Bladenboro.

Officer Huntley called 911 dispatch, and the telecommunication officers alerted Bladenboro Fire Department.

Fire Chief Jackie Coleman with Bladenboro Fire Department immediately responded with other Bladenboro Firefighters. Fire departments from Ammon, Clarkton, Dublin, Elizabethtown, and White Lake also reponded.

According to Secretary Coleman, a service truck inside the building at Hester Trucking caused the fire and was completely burned. The fire caused damage to tires, trucks and the building; however, the building was not completely lost.

“The building may be able to be cleaned,” Coleman said.

The fire was extinguished by the afternoon and not injuries were reported. The cost of damages due to the fire is not known at this time.
