Spread the love

By BladenOnline team

Easter is here, and family gatherings are fast approaching. Are you looking for something sweet to serve? This recipe will be a hit if your loved ones like fudge.

Nicole and Charlotte wanted to replicate a recipe Nicole’s mom, Patricia “Pat” Smith, made in the past to help celebrate Easter week. Pat’s recipe was taken from the cookbook, “Recipes of Gray Moss Chapter,” on page 96. The book was distributed in the 1980s by the American Business Women Association in Elizabethtown, North Carolina.

Watch Nicole and Charlotte make the recipe from the 1900s on our YouTube Channel linked below.

Pat took the recipe: “Microwave Easy Fudge” and adjusted it to her peanut-buttery recipe.

Ingredients:
1 box confectioners sugar
1/2 c. cocoa
1/4 c. milk
1/2 c. butter
1 tbsp. vanilla
1/2 c. chopped nuts (optional)
Pat added 1/2 cup of creamy peanut butter.

Nicole and Charlotte added the sugar, cocoa, milk, and butter to a microwave-safe bowl and heated it on high (full power) for three minutes. After heated, remove from microwave.

If you want extra flavor, blend in vanilla, nuts, and peanut butter after removing the mix from the microwave. Stir until smooth and creamy. Spread into a buttered 8-inch square pan and let it cool. Refrigerating the fudge helps it cool faster. Once cooled, cut fudge into squares.

The duo did a batch of fudge without nuts and peanut butter. They also did a batch of fudge with the peanut butter.

Enjoy this recipe and the Easter Holiday!
